Camping

How do i reserve?

All reservations are done online, it's a small family business so we try to spend our time out on the grounds instead of in the office. We make it worth it for you by giving you two free tubing passes for each person that you book in advance, online.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in anytime after 11am if you have a site reserved. If you have a groupon or other package that doesn't allow you to reserve sites, you can check-in anytime after 9am and we'll get you the best site available. Check-out is by 11am on the day of your departure. If you'd like to tube the day of your departure, simply check-out of your site and park in the tubing parking lot area.

how many people can be in each campsite?

2 person minimum to reserve, 6 person maximum

CAN I BRING IN ANY FIREWOOD?

NO! By DNR rule, No outside firewood allowed. Anyone attempting to burn outside firewood will be asked to leave, we take the emerald ash borer threats very seriously.

Do the campsites have fire rings? Do i need one?

We burn right on the ground on a pre-existing burn hole. Makes cleanup much easier and makes it easier for mowing and looks better.

What sites will fit my camper?

It's best to get a site with water and electric if you have a camper, but if you get a site that is not ideal for your camper, we will accommodate you in a different site.

How many tents per campsite?

We charge per person, not per tent, so you can put up as many tents as you'd like.

Do the campsites have grills?

No, but feel free to bring your own. We keep track of your tubing passes in our system.

WHAT CAN I DO TO MAKE MY CHECK-IN FASTER?

Liability Waiver

Whether you are camping or tubing, you can sign this waiver at any time in advance to speed up the process, otherwise you'll have to do it on your phone before checking in anyway. Just have your ID ready at check-in and we can expedite the process! Everyone who enters the campground is required to sign this, so it doesn't hurt to do it in advance completed just in case.

WHAT IF I ALREADY SIGNED THE WAIVER?

Waivers must be signed every six months.

quiet time?

11pm for music and generators (except the big bar) campsites must be turned off by 11pm. Please respect your neighbors and know that not everyone enjoys the same music. Please contact us by calling or texting 920-543-6802 to let us know if people around you has their music or generator too loud. Thank you, it’s difficult for us to hear over our side by sides and we want you to enjoy your stay.

WHAT IF I PURCHASED A DISCOUNTED PACKAGE?

With the Groupon or LivingSocial Discounted Package, we do not allow any advance reservations, simply show up and we will put you in the best available site when you arrive. What some people do because we allow up to six people per campsite, they will book their site online and pay for two people and then add their four person package to that site when they arrive. Our Campground is huge so we always have tent sites available.

ARE THERE SHOWERS onsite?

We do have showers, $1 in quarters for a 5 minute hot shower.

CAN I CANCEL MY RESERVATIONS?

Sales are final. No refunds. We will work with you on change of dates if needed but must be requested in email at least 10 days prior to arrival date. Email us at appleriverhideaway@gmail.com

Tubing

What are the basics?

Departure times from 11 am – 5:30 pm Sunday-Thursday's Friday's and Saturday's 10:30 am-5:30 pm. Tubes must be turned in daily before 8pm. Tubing is weather dependant of course.
No glass allowed on the river — you will be fined and asked to leave.
Life jackets are recommended for young children and non-swimmers.
We strongly recommend NOT taking your keys on the river – the locksmith is expensive!
Please leave other valuables at home or locked up.
Coolers are available for rent.
You are welcome to take consumables (food or beverages) with you on your river trip, but please no Styrofoam coolers and be careful with any trash – tickets are given for littering!
We do not recommend bringing children on the 4th of July or any Saturday in July.

Why do i still have a pending transaction? Why haven't I gotten my deposit back?

If you turned in your tubes by 8PM undamaged then you should be receiving your deposit back. All pre authorizations placed on cards are voided at the end of the tubing day.

If you used a debit card then it will have taken the money from your account, but also gives it back after a few days. The amount of time depends on your bank.

Are there lifejackets?

Yes, but there is a limited quantity so if you absolutely need one then bring your own just in case. It is a natural river, there are deep spots and places with fast current. Children must have life jackets.

Can I keep my tubes overnight? When do they need to be back?

Tubes have to be returned by 8pm each night.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I MISS MY HIDEAWAY TUBING EXIT?

If you tube beyond the Apple River Hideaway and Rivers Edge Exit and end up at Float-rite Park they will tell you that they called us and that we said that we are not coming to pick you, when they never called at all or they will draw you a map and tell you to walk back. If you call us, we will send a bus to come pick you up at the end of their gate. Please do not tube beyond the Hideaway exit and have to go through that with them.

Can I bring my dog tubing?

Dogs are not allowed on the river or on the transportation buses.

CABINS

HOW MANY ARE THERE?

There are two cabins along the river.

WHAT ARE THEY LIKE?

The cabins are very very basic, no bathroom, no kitchen, no counters, etc. Basically a place to sleep. Bunkbeds on the lower level and a mattress on the floor upstairs. They sleep up to 6 people on the three beds. There is a small table and two small benches. There is an A/C and heating unit.

When you book the cabin for two nights or more you will receive two tubing passes for each person that was booked in advance.
